Congratulations on your new custom cabinetry! The day has finally come. You’ve dreamed of your renovation, planned everything out with our in-house designers, picked out your perfect finish, prepped your home, and the cabinets have finally been installed. Now it’s time to enjoy the newest addition to your home.

In order to keep your cabinets looking new and preserve their full lifespan, here are some of our best tips for cleaning and caring for them:

Avoid Moisture

The Sencillo Cabinets have a very durable laminate finish that helps protect them, but this doesn’t mean they aren’t susceptible to water damage like any other cabinet. Don’t leave your wet dishcloths or hand towels sitting on or hanging off of your cabinets. Be sure to move your coffee makers, Insta Pots or other steaming kitchen accessories from underneath cabinets as the hot steam could harm the finish.

Refine Your Cleaning Method

When you are cleaning your cabinets, please avoid using harsh chemicals and cleansers. Instead, use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down your cabinets. Microfiber cloths are the best tool in your arsenal for cleaning your cabinets because they produce streak-free results and will not scratch your custom finish.

Our friends at Clean Club Calgary sell our favourite cleaning cloths. We use the Smart Clean Cloth available on their website: https://www.cleanclubcalgary.com/products

Don’t Leave Spills

Accidents happen; it’s almost unavoidable in our day-to-day lives. If you tip your wine glass on your built-in cabinets in the living room, get overzealous when washing your hands in the bathroom, or miss your coffee cup first thing in the morning in the kitchen, don’t wait to clean up that spill! Your cabinets will not stain easily, but if you let spills sit without wiping them up promptly, the moisture could cause water damage and discolour your custom finished cabinets.
