When we created the Sencillo brand and product line, it was imperative that way stayed true to the philosophy that inspired us in the first place: simplicity. Sencillo is a lifestyle - simple and uncomplicated, with a focus on the things that matter most.
If your mind is feeling cluttered, chaotic, and overloaded with deadlines at work, kids’ schedules, booking appointments, planning meals, and monitoring pantry essentials, read on to learn how you can reduce your stress, remember less, and live better!
Three strategies for decreasing your mental load:
1. Perform a Brain Dump
The vast majority of mental pressure is invisible. With endless to-do lists running through our minds every day, it's no wonder focus becomes a problem. If you're struggling to keep up with your thoughts, carve out fifteen minutes for yourself, grab a pen and paper, and write down anything (and everything) that's on your mind.
Don't worry about what you're going to do next or how everything is going to come together. Let your stream of consciousness flow! No matter how big or small the thought may be, write it down. Let it out. Free your mind! Once you've got everything down on paper, you'll be amazed at how quickly you can think clearer, focus more on the task at hand, and feel lighter while doing it.
2. Schedule & Automate Your Life
If you lead a busy lifestyle and have more than just your own schedule to worry about, use a digital calendar to manage every second of your day. While it can be overwhelming to see your schedule jam-packed at first, having all of your priorities and appointments noted and reminders set will empower you to create a smooth routine that doesn’t rely on your memory.
Include everything from your morning meditation, office hours, exercise, family time, chores, and of course time to relax and have fun! The more you can schedule, the less you have to rack your brain and second guess whether you missed an appointment or forgot to feed the dog.
3. Use Templates
Is there anything worse than coming home after a long day feeling decision fatigued and trying to decide what to make for dinner? Save time and reduce the number of decisions you have to make by using templates to simplify your life and ease your mental load! You use them at work, why not at home?
Template ideas:
Weekly meal plan
Grocery checklist
Weekly chores
Packing list
Seasonal home maintenance check-list
Workout plan and rotation
Daily/weekly/monthly schedules and to-do lists
